SEPARATOR CARTRIDGES The primary function of a separator cartridge is to remove finely dispersed water droplets that may carry over from the upstream coalescing cartridge. The most popular and economic style separator is constructed of a silicone treated, resin impregnated cellulose (paper) media which is pleated to provide extended surface area. The media is hydrophobic in nature i.e. it repels water thus is designed to repel any small coalesced eater drops which do not settle by gravity. The separators provided by Filtration, Inc are designed for high flow rates and low pressure drop. Similar to coalescer cartridges, our pleated media separators are available in typical sizes of 6" outer diameter and 3 1/2" inner diameter and host lengths to replace those provided by major original equipment manufacturers. |
